Craig,

Yes, your description sounds very similar to what I am experiencing, although I have repeated it only a couple of times. Since your experience points to a vacuum leak, it just reminded me of one thing I have to clear up, and that is the vacuum lines to the rear locker and vacuum tank. I noticed a whining or mild whistle after I turn off the engine that seemed to last 30-60 seconds or so and I was very sure that it was the vacuum system for the rear locker, i.e. the vacuum storage tank or attached associated hoses. Perhaps this leak got worse now, and doesn't whine anymore, and now I have a large vacuum leak like you had.

Looks like debug on all the vacuum lines is in order, and also the Temp II sensor test (what Rob wrote).

I've had this problem!!!!!! Does it crank and crank and crank, and as you put down the pedal, it starts to sound like its going to start but you have to keep turning the key, and then finally you let go and it fires up? Like a "gradual starting"?

Mine was a HUGE vaccuum leak. One of the half inch breather lines was off.... It gave me crazy idling problems unless warm as well.

I hope this helps. -Craig '85GL
