Sure you can. AFAIK, it would basically be like the air cooled engine setup. Pretty sure there would be less joins to *potentially* leak using the WBX fuel rail system though. Having just swapped in a water cooled for my air cooled, my preference would be fuel rails over extra joins. Just my .02.

And FWIW, I have seen, online, custom made fuel rails.
