Only diesel guys would ask this since gassers already have a battery under the pass side front seat. Using the driver's side on a 82/83 diesel puts it where the existing wiring for the Westy kitchen is easier to connect to the aux battery. Putting it on the pass side puts the weight opposite the already heavier left side rather than adding to the heavier side. Not much difference overall.

Yea, but......ONLY diesel guys have the option of being able to have two AUX batteries under the front seats and therefore have lots of power storage and still have the space under the rear seat for storage of STUFF. I have been contemplating installing some sort of starting battery behind the left rear tail light of my '87 and then have space for one more Aux battery up front under the passengers seat.

BTW, that, 61 AH, 330 A, VW battery, 000 915 105 CE, that I was writing about the other day arrived here yesterday. It looks to be a genuine VW battery, no indications that it is a GM battery or indications on who made it. I was led to believe this is the battery used by VW as the house battery in Eurovan campers. So if anyone has any more information on this battery than I do please speak up !

Cheers,
