Well, I can't speak for experience camping with a young child. But I camp all year around here in Oregon, and like you, will not run the heat at night. Good sleeping bags do help, but the real difference was putting a fleece liner inside the 20 degree bag. No more drafts through the zipper! Your biggest problem will be in the morning, deciding who gets up to light off the heater and put the water on to boil *smile* My recommendation would be to keep everyone together on the bottom bunk (for warmth). Good luck! EllenLola, '85 Vanagon ASI> Date: Thu, 22 May 2008 01:47:04 +0000> From: easywind1975@HOTMAIL.COM> Subject: What's to cold to camp?> To: vanagon@GERRY.VANAGON.COM> > So... We're thinking of camping out this weekend with my 2 year old. The low on saturday is forcast for 46. I don't have much experience with camping, well sober camping. How cold will this get in the van? I have one of those Coleman CAT heaters but I won't run it overnight, only in the morning or I guess if I woke up cold. We plan to bundle up and use sleeping bags, maybe everyone on the bottom bunk. Could use some collective group wisdom here.... I realize it is all relative. Ryan> _________________________________________________________________> Make every e-mail and IM count.
