Bloswing backwards can help.
I use Chemtool to clean gas components.
Sometimes they just won't clean or dissolve.
The part has just used up it's useful life span, frankly.
Fuel additives - they help.
I wouldn't dream of driving a diesel tank of fuel without an additive.
For gasoline - I use the slim Lucas bottle - they always claim everything
on the bottle of course.
I use that to treat injectors, goes in immediately when I buy a vanagon ,
etc.
I use it in carb cars too, the scarce few I ever see.
I can think of two - both 1970 ones- my personal 38 year old Mercedes 250
sedan, Mighty Ursula, that tows Vanagons,
And this 1970 914-6 Porches that's almost ready , FS btw.
Fuel treatments, used right, are good.
They prevent ...........you know...cleans things, blah blah blah.
They all claim magic.
Buy a good one.
My FLAPS guys say the Lucas gas treatment is really good - it seems to be.
Scott

Scott says, its "gummed up". So, what's causing gumming up? And what does
gummed up look like? Goo? Jelly? Or is it just simply dirt? Can it not
be blown backwards and get it out by the sender unit's hole?
