Does the fuel always come out that slow? There is less than 1/2 a tank but I expected something more, in 10 minutes I have maybe an inch in my 5 gal can. I'm changing the fuel tank. After the 'noisy fuel pump' thread, the story related by Aaron and the lesson on old dirty tanks by Scott I ordered one from Volks Cafe on Thurs. A competitive price, the order was processed that same day, it was sitting here when I got home this afternoon and there were cookies too!. I can't really ask more than that. A quiet pump would be good and being able to use the whole tank of gas even better. I also ordered the tank reseal kit, new hoses and such down there sounds like a fine idea.
Well, there ya go ! If you would have read my story on WHY the fuel tanks cannot be repaired or cleaned then you would understand that the fuel is going out slowly BECAUSE the screen is plugged and the RUBBER hoses INSIDE are rotten and probably of a smaller internal diameter than they should be. So, if the fuel pump is noisy from fuel starvation due to a dirty tank HOW DO YOU EXPECT THE FUEL TO DRAIN MORE QUICKLY ? Just remove the tank with fuel in it and then drain it our through one of the many other openings.
