You can't please them all. I been hearing you guys go on and on about the fuel lines like how bad could they be, mine are only 24 years old I'm a full time mechanic been playing with my vanagon's for a couple yrs now I decided last week i was going to change out my fuel line just as a precaution I have visually checked them a few times never noticing anything bad when I started taking things apart i noticed there were two injectors hoses sweating already one on each side look down on the drives side and what do you see exhaust manifold OUCH!!!!. I'm now on the fuel line boat let the next upgrade to the van you love and put blood sweat and tears into be a fuel line upgrade you won't be able to use that cool map light you just installed if the engine catches on fire. And guaranteed the insurance comp. will give ya peanuts for it.... when doing this i replaced even the return line like they say you will need a 25ft roll of 5/16 or 7mm fuel injection line cost about 70-80$ and about 20 F.I clamps 20$ or so. Tell me when the last time you blew 100$ on your van for a upgrade and this is a job that can be done by a DIY person me after hours in the shop was about 2hrs with a oil change and a couple brown pop's easy going i would figure 3 hours easy on the ground. I have decided to put this on my regular to do list figure once every five years or so should be just fine and if your fuel pump is making a bit of noise try changing the fuel filter worked wonders for me Ben has this great resource http://www.benplace.com/fuel_line.htm so why put it off any longer!!!!....
