The Bentley is not really a 'how to' manual quite . you must have one of course, and there are good testing procedures like for testing ignition say, and useful pictures, but the intent of the book is not to teach or tell you how to work on every aspect of a vanagon, like if you just got your first Vanagon ever.

And..........you gotta have one, and that's all there is that's commonly available anyway. it's very good for current flow wiring diagrams for example. - which take some getting used to.

and the pictures help too . There's great info hidden in that book, but it's not really a 'how to' very much.
