Definitely check things out beforehand.  I got a $460 "ticket" for
trespassing after spending a night in a private school parking lot in
Hilton Head a few weeks ago.  Somebody saw us in the morning and
apparently reported us to the police.  I've done plenty of stealth
camping before and never had any trouble.  But do be careful.  I'm
thinking of taking another trip down there to contest the ticket.  Court
date in June.
