Naturally, it's a no brainer that something made in The Fatherland will be better than something made in Mexico or the US.

fwiw. many Subaru's like 90 to 94 Legacy's with the great EJ 2.2 engine ........have made in mexico wiring harnesses and they are OK>

well....................... depends on price and miles too. 96 Golf gasoline 16 valve..... could be a good car generally speaking - being as that is ...not bad, only 12 years, it could have life left in it. be intersting to see what others say.

all things being equal, a german made car has to e better. - you might not have a lot of choice however.

and price.........makes al the diff in the world. and miles to, and how it was not cared for- that all matters. , a lot. you could carfax this particular Golf too.

That's funny 16V would be a gasoline car, right ? for Engine is says 'petrol' ..................what ? , petroleum based fuel ? i should hope so ! then it says D in parentheses, but if it's a 16V it can't be a diesel, right ?

in vanagons anyway the 5th digit of the VIN says if it's a gas or diesel van when it left the factory. scott Neil2 wrote: > Hey volks, > > Does anyone know if the issues related to Jettas built in Mexico transcend > to Golfs?
