Truly, the best time to go camping is either the weekend before, or the weekend after, the three day holidays.  June 7 is Oregon State Parks free camping day, so I booked the weekend at Cove Palisades again this year.  Last year that campground was half empty, a big surprise for the weekend after Memorial Day, and Saturday night turnd out to be free camping.  What a deal!  But I digress...all set up to camp Memorial Day Weekend at Whalen Island.  It's a Tillamook County Park, on the Sandlake Estuary.  I am digging all this talk of camping!
