That's a 99 and later era Soobie engine I think.
The earlier ones, 90 to 94 EJ22's and SVX's are much better.
Solid STEEL fuel rail pipes.
And where there is pipe junction, it's a metal flange with o-ring between
the flanges.
There is just one spot on the fuel rail with hose - about two inches at the
fuel pressure regulator. All the rest is steel with o-rings.
And there are two fuel hoses, feed and return, that go to the fuel rail
connections on top of the intake manifold of course.
VERY, VERY well made stuff.
I think the later engines 99 and beyond.....they cut corners - like
adjustable valves instead of hydraulic lifters,
And I have read that late say 2000 era SOHC 2.5 engines........the ones from
the Forester car are made in Japan - the others are made in USA.
Usa, Tennessee probably.
The later engines, which are easier to get of course, have a nasty t-belt
tensioner in my never humble opinion.
And they are interference engines too.
