I've been trying to stay away from this topic but I can't. I just about had a stroke this weekend when the pumps hit $4.16 for regular here. I tried to fill up and the station has a $50 limit set so that's all I could get. This is just crazy. My Vanagon is my only vehicle and at between 17 and 18 mpg that's not real good. Right now I can walk or bike to work on nice days but will maybe be moving soon and looking at a 45 mi daily commute. I have a co-worker who claims that gas should be that much. "Look how much we pay for a gallon of Milk. Why shouldn't gas be $4.00 a gallon?" I always have to remind him that not matter how important Milk might be to the American family it's not needed 15-20 gallons at a time and we don't need it to conduct our daily lives. So his argument is ridiculous. Something has to happen my friends and unfortunately I don't think anyone knows what that is or when it is going to be. Scary. -- Thanks, Jeff '90 Carat (Grover) '86 (We call this one Parts) '78 Bus (Melissa) Patty's Bus |
