I just put the 89 Wolfsy Weekender on the road for the summer and it choked and caughed and eventually spat blood red (rusty) gasoline when I drained the fuel tank. I pulled the tank and it is a mess, sludge, rust and solids on the bottom. Can it be saved? I see new tanks for about $190 at the Busdepot. Should I just pass it off for scrap or is it worth a thorough cleaning? From the outside, it looks pretty good, some minor rust around the perimeter seams. Thanks in advacne for your advice.
