All true Don. bottom line is though...........when we pull up to the pump, and we have 40 bucks in our wallet.......... you get what you can get with those two 20's. And yes, on 'this' day only - actually. you realize that until the recent super spike in fuel prices............in terms of dolars adjusted for inflatioin were wenre't in bad shape.someting like fuel had been this expensive in adjusted for inflation dollars since 1980 something. of course, when it went from low 3's something over 4 per gallon in some places.........I think it's safe to say we have never paid this much for our gas ever before - since they began making gasoline. Regular citizens are relatively powerless to do anything about it .....other than lobby, or vote, or perhaps boycott, but that's not likely. I think I overheard on the radio they were raising hell in England about fuel price ( or food ) just today or something like that. 'They' have us by the short and curlies, it seems ! scott Don Hanson wrote: > So if you are trying to keep up with the cost of driving your vanagon and > you're now using Miles per dollar as a real measure of how much driving it > costs..You have two 'sliding scales' to try to deal with at the same time. > Gas and diesel have about doubled in 6 months and the dollar's real value, > as compared to it's actual purchasing power in the new World Economy, had > shrunk in half in the past 9 months.. > Can you say "Double-Whammy!!"?
