I just got a set of crank extensions from Bus Depot to clear the door
speakers I have. They were $26 but at least I do not have to worry about the
speakers not being covered. My system has a single power amp which feeds
into a passive subwoofer with crossover (crossover from Partsexpress.com)and
then into the main speakers. This puts the bass into a single 8" Dual voice
coil sub and then the higher frequencies are directed back to the dash and
tap into the 4" speakers. This works well without the hassle of multiple
amps, cutting the door panels or suffering from bad factory speakers. Your
van must have had new rear wires installed since they are 2 complete sets.
My next upgrade is replacing the subwoofer box with a pair of shallow mount
subs under the front seats. This will free up a little space inside the van.
Shop frugally and the deals you encounter on this stuff is amazing. Be
careful of some ebay dealers that charge high S&H.
