"I will say this......most rafters are very good about cleaning upafter themselves as they expect to return many times. What I see whencamping in my Syncro can be pretty bad in comparison. It's ironic thatit is so much harder to clean up after yourself on the river, yetthese seem so much cleaner, during high use periods." Way true in my experience too, Miguel. I've seen this many times on the stretch from Moab through Cataract dozens of times .... when there were only 26 rapids showing ....now the entire 52 are just as John Wesley Powell found them..... :) but with MUCH lower water. Opinion: there is a work-rigor to rafting. There seems to be an environmental ethic of conscientiousness and responsibility that does not exist with the broader crowd that basically "car-camps", and we are actually part of the latter group. It's "easy" to car camp; it's "difficult" to raft and take responsibility for all that's involved. That difference, in my view, seems to elicit a pride in leaving-no-trace on the river. just my $0.02.
