Subject: Registering in Oregon?
Content-Type: text/plain; charset=ISO-8859-1; format=flowed

As I posted earlier, Mrs Squirrel and I are moving to Oregon (Bend) from California. The endless seas of pink stucco houses, mini-malls, pollution, heat, and people everywhere around here in SoCal have finally gotten to me. I know this is not necessarily a Good Thing in the minds of many Oregonians, but there it is. Bend has had more than its fair share of Californication, but we'll do what we can to fit in: we're bringing our little home businesses there to contribute to the local economy, and we'll be friendly.

First thing we'll do is register with the Oregon DMV and swap out our Cali plates for Oregon ones, if for no other reason than to avoid a stoning from riled-up passersby. Of course I expect we'll need to pass emissions (and safety?) requirements -- anyone care to comment on that vis a vis California standards?
