Too True. Too true.

When I was contemplating which conversion to do, I looked into the "complete" DV kits on the Samba etc. Not complete some of them. And for sure; there's more parts than meets the eye! (as you say. Fasteners etc.)

We have chatted of this before. In spite of some fasteners being rusty or whatever, I'm sure glad I "pack rat" parts and bits and pieces. i.e. A chunk of the air intake boot from the Dodge Caravan air filter box, (which I had already cut up) made a nice "insulator" between the upper rad hose in engine bay and the stock air cooled air filter box support it's zap strapped to.

And speaking of conversion parts lists.....

I started a thread regarding conversions parts lists on a VW gas I4 group I started.

One aimed at compiling a list (or lists) of parts needed for a given VW gas I4 conversion. Something that is a little more complete than your usual "pull the engine, wiring harness and relays".

No replies yet, but we're a pretty small crowd.

I sure hope the list flourishes. http://groups.google.ca/group/vanagons-with-vw-inline-4-cylinder-gas-engines

Anyhow......

Hope you're staying well (no more crazy flu bugs??)

Neil.
