Subject: a speaker recommendation

We're installing a "real" sound system so we can listen to tunes in the van. I found this site midwest electronics that is the main blaupunkt us seller. Anyways, they have a bunch of things (last years models?) marked down at ridiculous prices (75-80%). For example, I just finished installing four of these in our westy: http://www.midwestelectronics.com/blaupunkt-thx402-p-68.html They're marked down to $35 a pair right now, which seems ridiculous to me. Be careful, they have the same model number elsewhere on the site listed at $90. I guess that is this year's "edition".

They fit in all of my stock speaker holes. The grill was shallow enough to clear the dash, but not the window cranks (bent the cranks to get them to clear, broke a few cranks in the process). I had to "trim" my a/c plastic face in the rear (this is westy a/c) to clear the grills.

Tomorrow I'm installing a subwoofer I got from the same site, but if I had known how great these would sound, I probably wouldn't have bothered. There's no deep bass of course, but for 4 inchers, they have a very full range.

I have no affiliation with blaupunkt or the midwest electronics place.

By the way, I was expecting to have to run wires to the rear speakers, since I've heard the old vans have just a single ground going back there. I had two complete pairs of speaker wire in the back, so I didn't have to after all. Does this mean some PO ran the wires?
