According to my back-of-an-envelope calculations, installing mudflaps on the other three wheels will increase airstream drag and lower MPG to the tune of about 0.26 which works out to about $1.12 for every 100 miles. When we get to $5 per gallon, you can up that estimate by another twenty cents. And, in headwinds the drag coefficient increases exponentially. Conversely, if you can manage to drive in tailwinds only, then the variable mudflap cost approaches zero. So....., how much do mudflaps really cost? Come to think of it, I'm going to yank off my driver's side mudflap right now! I was looking at the flaps on gowesty but > they do not look like the one on the driver side of my van.= what your seeing is the remains of the factory mudflap. all westys just had one mudflap right in front of the LP tank to protect it from debris. there were no other mudlfaps on the other wheels. chris ************** Get trade secrets for amazing burgers.
