Jamie, your Westy has one LH mudflap like all other Vanagon
Westys had when delivered. They were put there under mandate of the US and
Canadian authorities to "protect" the propane tank, HA ! The other three were
$100 each options and few buyers took that option. Those OEM mudflaps are
NLA unless you find good used ones - BIG JOKE - as the design of those
mudflaps lead to their early demise. VW in their infinite engineering wisdom
reduced the thickness of the rubber between the upper and lower part of the mudflap
and inserted a metal bar for support which ended up acting as a perforation
line and most all these mudflaps have now broken off at that perforation
line. I would suggest you remove your OEM LH mudflap, sell it on Ebayze to some
fool for big bucks and get four of the VW of South Africa mudflaps such as
you see Go-Westy, myself and many of the other parts dealers are selling. Mine
have been on my van for over 15 years now, being one of the first to
purchase them when they were first imported form South Africa. They are pretty much
indestructible and never come off even with heavy snow & ice loads built up
on them and scrapping on every topes I bounced over in Mexico.
