Hey Scott.

Currently running 14" wheels with Nexen tires. Soon to be replaced with 15" and ? tires.

I was concerned about the distance between the bottom of the exhaust (especially cat) and ground.

The engine is mounted at 15*. I assumed a DV exhaust wouldn't fit. Couple that up with a total of "zero" previous experience, and you get what I did! --- ;^)

The exhaust runs to the front, then down and around the carrier I built:

I left about 1" clearance between the carrier and the exhaust (for engine movement). Any lower, (and toward the driver side) and the exhaust would be lower plus it would be closer to the tire. Something I didn't want.

So given what I used as a design, it seems to me, that for the *most* part, the carrier dictates the height of the muffler.

I may end up cutting the piece that will attach the end of the pipe shown, at an angle to get it "up" to the cat/muffler mounted at a better height.

I'd rather not though.

For sure, one of the future projects (assuming Frankenstien runs!) is to build a better exhaust (primaries portion to flex joint)

What I should do, is go to the wreckers and find a DV exhaust to use as a template and see how it fits, though I think my design (roughly based upon the TIico setup) is what will fit given the carrier I'm using. In future I may even consider running it around the driver side axle to add length.

Thanks for the tip on the Volvo exhaust part. My goal was to use "off the shelf" exhaust stuff. i.e. stuff from Dynomax. Partly to help the next person (should they be crazy enough to do this kind of conversion!!)
