In my case my Nav system (Pioneer AVIC N3) has multiple extra boxes, but I drive the speakers directly off the unit (50 watts per channel).

I put the extra hardware under the bottom shelf in the cabinet with the sink.

I really mean under the bottom shelf. As that bottom shelf has a small platform which raises it up about 1 1 /2 inches.
