True, but if you're tent camping out of a 35 MPG Civic you might rethink your plan to buy a Westy, while if you are driving a class B or C van-based camper (or even something bigger) the Westy might be much more attractive. Even with the Westy, our own ventures might be much closer to home than the Gaspe Peninsula trip we were planning for this summer. Even at that, given the Westy's fuel economy we'd have been paying about $300 for fuel for that trip before the recent increases and I'd project $400 now. That's a significant but not prohibitive increase, and this has to be kept in mind. Stephen
