David,

Thanks, I am familiar with your webpage with the Audi caliper carrier modifications. The problem for me is the Audi carrier places the pads at the correct spot for the stock 276mm discs in a Vanagon or regular Syncro. The Syncro 16, if you will recall, has a "built-in" offset mounting of the caliper to accommodate the 276mm LT discs. If I put the Audi carriers onto my Syncro 16 with the 276mm Audi discs, the pads will sit 13mm off the edge of the disc. I need the bigger isc just to accommodate the caliper position. The same is true if I were to put the SA Big Brake caliper on the Syncro 16. In that situation the caliper carrier also has the offset to work with the SA disc. That again puts the pads 13mm off in the Syncro 16 application.

Now, if I had a 300mm vented disc with the offset within reason, I will be a very happy Syncronaut. I sent my carriers off to Rennie because he was already doing a batch of them on his own mill. I do not even own a drill press let alone a mill or CNC machine. Besides that, the cost is very minimal. Rennie also got the hardware together. I don't think he is even making enough to buy himself a cheeseburger or a brewski out of the deal.

Cheers,

BenT

ps: got myself a beat-up 2wd LT35. would you happen to know anyone selling body parts?
