Batteries are going where the core is so.... Replacing sounds good, happen to know what size to buy? Goes by inside diameter correct ?

I used two stainless stell bolts that had an unthreaded shoulder under the head. I cut the threads off, and ground the end witha slight taper to make insertion easy. When I took them off the heater, I kept them as high as possible, add coolant or (distilled) water into the end of the hose, push in bolt (easier if lubed with silcone spray or dush washing soap. Add clamp, reapeat for other side. So as to what to guy, two bolts or rods that have 5/8" dia, two clamps to suit. This does leave the hoses inside the van, but if you are ina parking lot and simply need to get this done, it is the best way. Pushing the hoses through the bottom of the van will likely loose a bit of fluid. If you are going to go through that, then you might want to think about just replacing the heater hoses with two straight runs - if you ahve no intereset in adding the rear heater back any time soon.
