You were one of those kids in class who had to chime in even though no one asked you to, weren't you?

This one time in language lab in junior high, we were all sitting in our little booths with our headphones on. Voice of Mrs Ortho, our surprisingly hot French teacher came over the headsets: "If you can't hear me, raise your hand."

Pause.

"Wait . . . I mean..."

She was cute, but a bit of a dim bulb.
