You might want to check out the "knee" of the poptop support. Mine rubs too and when looking around to see why, I noticed the bar that goes through the joint had worn halfway through. I'm not sure why or if I'm the only one, but at some point this will have to be fixed so that it doesn't fall off on me.

Perhaps your rubbing is due to the same wear?
