dear all
bernie has coined it correctly
the land is filling up with used imports ...
ironic isnt it ... that north america would become not only the breeding
ground for new sales
but also import of used vehicles ...
and the way i hear it ... the 16 years old is not only to avoid duty but
also cause in japan and a few other places vehicles older than a certain
year are no longer allowed on the road ..or to be sold or what ever
configuration of the law required to engage planned obsolescence ...
but wait before we all go running to jump into these lovely creatures .. the
right hand drive is posing a problem for icbc (insurance corp of BC ) the
government owned and operated vehicle insurance program ...
http://www.icbc.com/library/research_papers/right-hand-drive_vehicles/index.asp
and
http://www.icbc.com/library/research_papers/right-hand-drive_vehicles/pdf/rhd_vehicle_safety_report.pdf
for a longer read with details ...
so increased insurance costs may be some of the trade off for these less
expensive vehicles which run anywhere from 6 to 10 thousand depending on the
configuration ...
... they are also a much narrower interior cockpit cabin space
the distance between the door and the seat is minimal ...
etc ...
all that said ... these are certainly sexy vehicles and very sweet looking
...
the 4 x 4 chamios (did i spell that right) is really cool looking
opps my westie is looking in the window at me i better stop whoring around
with other vehicles
;o) ....
yours

There are two kinds of jobs in the world:
Picking up garbage and telling people things.
Successful people do both, with the same good attitude. (riw)
