I am at dinner with my van parked right outside the restaurants front window. An older guy noticed my van and briefly shared an interesting story with me. You guys probably all know how the conversation went, "your van reminds me......." So the story went like this,, When he was living in England many years ago a friend of his took his family, grandmother and all on a road trip to Spain. When in Spain the grandmother, sadly, passed away. Due to the difficulty of having the body returned to England etc. the family loaded the grandmother into the top (must have been a high roof?) and left her there for the night while they stayed in a hotel and figured things out. The next morning they awoke to find that the camper was gone, apparently stolen. Later and after much searching the van was found at the bottom of a deep ravine that it had been driven into. They guessed that the thieves, well into their joyride, discovered that they had gotten a lot more than they expected and then disposed of the vehicle as thoroughly as possible.. That was probably the most unique "your van reminds me of" story that I have heard yet.. Happy Friday, Jonathan Poole |
