I have been looking for a solution for my Syncro Westfalia with it's TDI and my LT 4x4 with the 2.4L I6 for an exhaust brake. I have been in contact with several vendors of these systems and all tell me that won't work and are really not recommend for Volkswagen because they have hydraulic lifters and the back pressure will cause the valves to rise and then hit a piston... Besides running massive brakes, is there anything else I can do to get some engine braking? Perhaps a butterfly valve on the intake system along with a blow off valve to ensure there isn't massive turbo spike? I was sort of looking for that nice braking sound going down a hill...
