I have no experience with that particular autostarter/ alarm w /keyless remote, but I do have significant experience with putting in a keyless remote/ power doorlocks/ alarm into a vehicle. The autostart feature is nice to have, and I've installed it on several of my vehicles now. But, due to the danger of someone attempting to autostart a manual trans vehicle that's been left in gear, an additional neutral safety switch lockout is required. No one wants to install them due to liability. I won't put one in any manual trans vehicle, either, even my own. And I never leave any car in gear, either! The alarm system would need to command a relatively cheap doorlock servo to push/pull the lock linkage on the driver's door. If the vehicle has other doors, trunklids, hatches, etc, then you'd buy one locker for each. But on the later Vanagon (like mine) with fully-functioning factory door locks, you could just install the one on the main locker in the drivers door. It does the same action electrically (remotely!) as what you do when you turn your key in the driver's door. The the rest just works as it always did. (or should, at least.........)
