> I was reading about this, factory installed BWM type plug on early Vanagons. Can someone please tell me where there were installed, and can someone please send me a pic of one of these? Generally they were installed on the dash, like the cigarette lighter socket. Nothing much to see, just a matte natural finished steel socket about half the diameter of the standard cigarette lighter socket. If you're looking to buy, I suggest Powerlet. They carry really nice ones--- real metal with screw terminals, not the cheaper plastic ones like you get from the John Deere dealer. I had one of those JD plastic ones for my Dometic RC3000 portable fridge-cooler, and some of the plastic bits started to get soft because it draws some pretty good amperage. The metal one still gets warm, but at least can sink the heat into the surrounding chassis where it's mounted.
