My 82 westy d is dead low compression. I have found an 82 westy that has a 1.8 gas & rebuilt trans for $3k. I will take a look at it tomorrow see how it drives. I have been looking for a replacement for the 1.6 NA but the cost & really it needs the 1.9t + cost of installation is going run me over $4k. Also with the cost of diesel the few more miles per gal makes not to seem cost affective at this point. But I'm in CA & hope DMV don't not want to see the bus if so that's not going to work. Any feed back from you all. Chris [Non-text portions of this message have been removed]
