Frank mentions this battery as 000 915 105 AD in one post (while the batter=
y was en route), then after he received the battery he refers to it as 000 =
915 105 CE. In both instances he says its 61 AH. According to the linked th=
e table the CE is 92 AH - though for comparison I'd like to see RC listed -=
I assume 92 AH is how many amps per 20 hours (is that how it works?). I kn=
ow RC is how many minutes at 25 amps. Not sure which battery Frank actually=
installed. Then of course, Loren is referring to a CC which is 68 AH. Are =
all the batteries listed in the linked table AGM deep cycles? There are 11 =
batteries listed. Specifically the AD, CC, and the CE are all the same in W=
and H, and only L varies, with 246, 278, 353 for the AD, CC, and CE respec=
tively. There is also the AK with L of 393 and AH of 110, and a 95 AH, the =
AH model, which is listed with the same dimensions as the CE. Lots of choic=
es, and just as much confusion.
Go back and re read my posts ! You have mis read them ! The battery I DID
receive was not an AGM battery but an ordinary starting battery. I sent it
back. Then after getting the part numbers straightened out with the VW parts
man at my dealer I got the info on the correct AGM battery made by
Interstate exclusively for sale to VW, 000 915 105 CE, which is to replace the house
battery in the EV campers and "should fit" in the battery box of the Vanagon.
I NEVER GOT ONE OR SAW ONE - The price is $220 and I "said" in my previous
post I was not going to investigate this matter any further BECAUSE of the
high price of that battery. I "said" if ANYONE ELSE wants to take up the task
there're more than welcome to continue on. Loren went and looked up that
part number on the web and discovered that part number refers back to the
ORIGINAL battery made for the EV camper by VARTA batteries in Europe. This battery
is no longer available and that's why interstate was contracted by VW of
north America to supply a replacement. It may or may not be the same size as a
group 41, I DON'T KNOW, as I have never seen one to personally measure it. I
was "told" it's the same size as a group 41 - that's all I know !
