Neil2,

In the 15 years I drove my '84 Westy, the flame never went out. That's not the case on my '97 EVC with the Norcold, unfortunately. I don't think it's the outside vent that's the problem. It's probably time to pull the unit out and clean the flame box, and make sure it is sealed up when you put it back together. And, the drain pipe should also be cleaned out, and the cap put on when using the fridge. Make sure the propane pressure is also 11" of water. You can make a water manometer out of 6' of clear vinyl tubing attached to a 2' board in a U with a tail to hook to the gas line. Fill the U half full of water, and the difference in water column height should be 11" when hooked up to the gas line.

Stuart

Hey volks,

Been waiting all week for the rain to stop so I could seal the exhaust on me Dometic. Now I can't find the email describing exactly where/which parts to use the RTV on. I've the manual in front of me and the parts are disassembled but I'm not seeing a problem to fix at this juncture.

If you've sealed your flue to stop the flame from being extinguished by road air entering the exhaust, please advise.
