Subject: great "personal cooling"device
Content-Type: text/plain; charset=ISO-8859-1

Since a/c repair has been pushed back till next summer for me, and the weather is really heating up around here, I was looking for some sort of personal evaporative cooling device. Previously I had tried the one the sharper image sells, that you wear around your neck, but it didn't really seem powerful enough to be that useful. I just got a misty mate though, and it seems really great. Website is mistymate.com I got one of the clearance models (the "elite") for $20 and it seems to work really well, especially with air blowing on you from the windows. The mist it puts out is really fine. I think the functionality of all the models is pretty much the same.

Just thought that others without a/c or those avoiding its use to get better mpg might be interested.

Incidentally, anybody tried one of these on a vanagon?: http://www.classicaire.com/

Seems like it would be a mpg killer.
