dear all

regarding spelling... many writers who write for a living can not spell at all indeed when you think about it spell check was one of the first non plug in add on to be included right from the get go ... so spelling or not is common... the other half of the argument for doing grammar RIGHT is that english is considered an evolving language ... i would imagine every spoken and written language is evolving ... it is the unspoken and unwritten one that are not so spelling and styles change a great deal over each ... generation ... as well as form and function ... computers are changing the way we view english the same way the press changed the way words were seen in print what is acceptable today will not be 50 years from now ... what was acceptable 50 years ago /.. less so now ... case in point i start all correspondence to every one with "dear" i was recently chastised ... for the second time in my recent professional incarnation ... that is no way to commence a letter business or other wise ... but but but said i ... in grade 8 grammar ... 30 years ago ... (read with texts 20 years older than that ) (read written by people who were in their 30's and 50' then so working with 30 year old ideas ...) so read with 90 -100 year old grammar ... their reply ... this is not grade 8 any more... sigh i still start with dear ... sometimes an email with hey... yours
