I have a buddy who has a hydrogen generator. It is small, but very heavy - I think due to a transformer inside. The thing measures about 12" Inches by 12" square, and it pours out hydrogen for hydrogen/oxygen open flame welding used in jewelry work. It produces no oxidation of the metals.and subsequent slags. This thing does require an external power source, and it uses Potassium Permanganate as I recall ( or is it potassium hydroxide - can't remember) The unit was made in Germany. if it were bigger it would put out a LOT of hydrogen. I wonder if it would generate enough to run a vehicle. and use some of the hydrogen produced to create somehow the electricity required for the reaction.
