For the first time in 13 years I'm looking at my 1982 Vanagon front suspension. I'm replacing the right lower and upper control arms because of my recent accident, and I'm finding cracked rubber donuts, rusted and worn thru donut sleeves or bushings, and rusted out washers.

Who are the recommended suppliers for these parts? I might as well replace these parts while I'm working on this.

Robert, this is gonna be more and more common as these Vanagon chassis age. I went through mine a year or so ago, see my _Vanagon Westy Suspension, Steering, Brake Overhaul_ (http://members.aol.com/Fkc43/springs.htm) webpage. I found just what your finding. Some of the parts can be had as jober parts other will come only from VW. BusDepot and other such suppliers will have everything as they resell VW only parts as they have a contract with a VW dealer for those parts. If your keeping that van for any good length of time I highly recommend going the POR-15 route as I did.

Cheers,
