Subject: Front heater valve external leak
Content-Type: text/plain; charset="US-ASCII"

I replaced my front heater valve with a Meyle unit, installed new 5/8" Gates heater hose from the engine to the valve, and used new spring clamps on both hoses to secure them to the valve. This was all preventative maintenance. I discovered a tiny leak last night and it's very hard to see where it's coming from. I thought at first it was the spring clamp on the 5/8" heater hose so I put the old worm drive clamp on. No luck. I'm thinking of just putting the old valve back on tonight, but because I know it will be a real challenge to change, I was just wondering if anyone else had a new valve leak. I'm wondering if maybe the top hose/valve joint might be leaking. I find it hard to imagine any coolant getting by the seal made by those spring clamps though. Thanks

Pascal
