There is an auto shop specializing in Vanagon and Westies in Walnutcreek. I believe the name of the owner/mechanic is Rod. He currently has an 87 Vanagon parting out in his shop. He may have the stud you need. I was there once and realized that he is very knowledgeable about Vanagons. He even has new Vanagon parts. His shop is on the northern end of the Main Street in Walnutcreek. I am sorry I do not have his phone number and address any more. But if you look up Craigslist for the SFO Bay Area he often has an ads about parting out his 87 Vanagon. I just looked at it but there is no ads from him today. Maybe you can find it on the phone book/yellow page.
