I look forward to actually driving my ABA conversion!

From what I've read, the bottom end on the 2.0 is a lot tougher than the 1.8's One big reason modders use it with the 1.8 head.

And FWIW, I'm pretty sure that not every 2.0 c/w oil squirters. Something Chris would want if he went this route. And, IIRC, engines from model years '93-95' were most likely to c/w these squirters. Plus they had stronger cranks, and are OBD1. Much more user friendly to install as opposed to OBD2.

Neil.

I have for 8 years and no problems, engine now has over 230,000. Still runs good after 8 years but uses oil , but then I towed Vanagons a couple thousand miles with my Westy. > Still, I am amazed this engine is so tough. > > I went thru 2 1.8's within 4 years . > > Robert > 1982 Westfalia > > > > > > > > > > > --- On Sat, 6/14/08, chris jackson <chriscjack@BIGPLANET.COM> wrote: > > From: chris jackson <chriscjack@BIGPLANET.COM> > Subject: I'm thinking about going to gas > To: vanagon@GERRY.VANAGON.COM > Date: Saturday, June 14, 2008, 6:53 PM > > My 82 westy d is dead low compression.
