Hey, I forgot about that and I saw a couple of sets of Bay Window Westies over in The Dalles on the weekend...They waved and all...I was wondering about that, you rarely see any Vans traveling in bunches.. I like Maupin, it's a nice little town. Don Hanson Date: Wed, 18 Jun 2008 12:07:06 -0700 From: Brendan Slevin <totorovan@GMAIL.COM> Subject: VW Meet

We had a blast father's day weekend in Maupin at the 3rd annual Deschutes River Rendezvous VW Meet. Saw a few splitties, lots of bays-rivieras and westies, a rare Canadian bay camper called a Dorper with 50k original miles!!!, and a bunch of vanagon westies. We were the only non-pop-top Vanagon there. Lots of good coffee, beer, music, conversation, tech tips, and new friends. Friday evening, during the potluck dinner, a tow truck showed up with a Vanagon westy on the hook! Shortly after dinner a few people dove into an emergency head re-seal. The h20/alt belt had snapped and it severely overheated. Anyway. A great time. It was our first meet/gathering like that and we'll be at the next one I'm sure. I'll have a link to some pictures soon!
