Subject: water pump leak in ocean springs, MS?
Content-Type: text/plain; charset="iso-8859-1"

Hi everyone,

I am in an 84 vanagon westy wolfsburg in Ocean Springs, MS and believe that I have sprung a leak from my water pump. When the engine is running I can hear what seems to be a bad bearing. The pulley on the front is showing very fine metal shavings and seems to be working its way out of the pump. I am assuming that my whole pump is failing. When I turn the engine off a fair amount of antifreeze is leaking from somewhere above the oil filter and not from the pulley itself. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. I am very new to this engine and am clueless as to how easy or hard this is to fix/replace? Can anyone point me in the direction of a parts house or graveyard where I may be able to find a pump asap. I am hoping to get this mean machine back to Memphis, TN tomorrow.....essshhh! Thanks so much for your time and attenntion.

All the best,
