Subject: Almost ready to pull 2.1--questions
Content-Type: text/plain; charset=ISO-8859-1

This afternoon I got everything up top disconnected, moved away and generally ready to get under the car tomorrow and finish dropping the motor. I was reviewing the bentley for what to expect... every motor has a different "style" of removal and I thought I'd asked about how the 2.1 removes.

It seems from the bentley that you loosen the top two engine-to-transmission bolts, then prepare a jack about 4 inches below the transmission and loosen transmission mounts (and loosen the tin muffler strip) to allow the whole deal to angle downward, pivoting on the front transmission mount.

This seems to allow the engine enough room to miss the rear sheet metal (looks like it's gonna be tight) as it clears the input shaft and then lowers.

Is that about right?

Jim
