NO SILICONE!
The o ring doesn’t need it. If anything some Hylomar or a contact adhesive
on the paper gasket.

Subject: water pump gasket cure time?

Hey guys,

Thanks much to all who have helped a stranded newbie with the water pump
repair.  I have the old pump off and am going back in with the new.  I was
reading on the rtv silicon that it cures in 12-24 hours.  I am needed to
get on the road asap.  Is it ok to bleed and drive once assembled or do I
have to let the silicone cure for the 12-24 hours?  Thanks for all of your
help!
