Last year a mechanic charged my system, replaced a leaky valve, and it worked fine all summer here in Phoenix - though I was warned the squeal in the compressor might mean it was on its way out.  With the old compressor it cooled the inside of the van in about 15 min. down to a nice 75-78 degrees... so obviously something is not During the winter the freon leaked a bit so I paid $800 for new compressor, dryer, freon charge, and dye testing (the leak was the compressor seal not the o rings).  Now, all I get out the vent is 68 degrees which isn't enough to cool the big box.  Its going back in on Monday.
