So how much do you think is too much to spend? $1.00, $50.00 or
$500.00. It really depends on what needs replacing. Start out by
getting it checked to see how well it holds pressure. You're going to
probably need oil added. I would say up to that point you will spend
around $100.00. If the seals on the compressor are gone, then add another
$500.00. Then there are the seals in the condensor which add $50.00 or
so depending on who does them. Then there's the evaporator. Not sure
how much that adds.
I've had the compressor changed along with the evaporator and the
condensor seals changed to the tune of about $600 - $700. I don't remember
for sure. But I need A/C. Just that simple.
So it's up to you how bad you want cool air.....
